Our Donors

Our fire department does not receive any support from local, county, state or federal entities, we rely on our once a year BBQ Cook-off and Fund Raiser and donations to have the funds necessary to operate the following year.  As you are probably aware, our 20th anniversary cook-off and fund raiser that was scheduled for the second week in June, 2020 had to be postponed due to the on-going pandemic. Postponimng the fundraiser was a difficult decision to make but the health of our friends, volunteers and members outweighed the concern that we would not have funds to operate in 2021.

We are very fortunate that our friends in the community and those who own property in our area but live elsewhere and local businesses stepped up and donated what they could.  Their generousity has ensured that we will be operational in 2021.

After a close call when one of our trucks got hung up on a tree stump while fighting a brush fire we made the decision to purchase a high clearance brush truck with funds that were donated over the years that were specified to be used for the sole purpose of buying another fire truck.

We also received a grant funding an emergency medical evacuation heliport on our fire department grounds. This helipad will serve Fort McKavett and the surrounding area.

The Fort McKavett Volunteer Fire Department wishes to thank all those who supported us in the past and during the pandemic of 2020.

We don't want to forget those organizations who have shared our vision of establishing a fire department that can provide a first response to begin fighting fires until a larger fire department arrives on the scene.  Our partners have provided the funds necessary to build our building and purchase the equipment needed to become a fire department.  Thank you, we will not forget.
